We’re Wangan Performance, an automotive workshop in Oakleigh South, and our new website is now live. Visual State Studio built it around the place our customers know: our workshop, the cars we work on and the straightforward way people can book a job with us.
A website that feels like our workshop
We wanted the site to be useful before anyone picked up the phone. Our work covers roadworthy certificates, logbook servicing, diagnostics, brake and tyre work, repairs and pre-purchase inspections. Those jobs are not all the same, so each service now has its own page with the information a driver needs before booking.
The site also needed to feel like the same business people visit on Eskay Road. The cars in the bays and the Wangan mural are part of the place. Those details now appear online without getting in the way of the practical information.
Real cars, real workshop
The photography was done at our Oakleigh South workshop, using the spaces, cars and people that are part of Wangan. The site shows what customers will actually see when they come in, rather than a generic workshop that could be anywhere.
The wide photographs give people a proper look at the bays and the cars around them. Other frames pick up the mural and day-to-day work on the floor. The photos appear across the site, so it feels connected as people move through it.
Photography was part of the website work from the beginning. The pictures have a job to do: they show the workshop clearly and help customers get a sense of the business before visiting in person.
Making it easier to book
The other job of the website is to make the next step clear. Drivers can read about the service they need, then use the contact page to choose that service, enter their registration and tell us whether they would prefer a call or an email.
That gives us the basic information we need to reply and gives the customer a simple way to explain what is going on with the car. The phone number and workshop details are also easy to find for anyone who would rather call.
We have kept the language straightforward. Someone looking for a roadworthy or help with a warning light should be able to find the right page without working through technical language first.
Working with Visual State Studio
The same in house team handled the website and the photography. Visual State Studio came to the workshop, photographed the actual space and built those images into pages organised around the information customers need.
Because one team did both, the pages were built around what they saw and photographed at the workshop. The finished site uses our own space and wording, while remaining simple to use on a phone or a computer.
